Step Two:
Find the right salvage yard for you. There are many options out there so how do you know what is the right one? A big factor is how much money will they give you for your vehicle. The amount of money depends if the car is complete if it runs, and if it drives. Does it have a battery and catalytic converter? Another key to finding the right salvage yard is how environmentally friendly they are. You will want to make sure the salvage yard is reputable, either with positive online reviews or a rating from the BBB. The reason for this is to ensure they will be disposing of the vehicle the right way; they are environmentally safe by recycling and disposing of all the parts and fluids according to the environmental standards and protocols.
Step Three:
Get your vehicle to the salvage yard. If it is possible, you can drive it right to the salvage yard. If it cannot be driven, you will have to schedule a pick-up from the salvage yard. Make sure to remove all your personal belongings from the vehicle beforehand; all electronics, chargers, umbrellas, garage door openers, EZ Passes, license plates, everything! You will not be able to get an item out of the vehicle once you sign the title over and you sell your vehicle.
